Hamstrings do a lot of work. They extend all the way from the pelvis to the top of the bones of the lower leg, and are an integral part of our ability to walk, run, jump, and bend our knees and move our hips. Hamstrings are made up of three muscles and their tendons, located at the back of the thigh. Hurricane season brings with it a lot of extras: Extra stress, extra vigilance, extra preparation, and, sometimes, extra work. Here in south Florida, Hurricane Irma recently reminded us that we can’t take the “lazy” days of summer for granted.
